The 2012 International Planet Under Pressure conference with the theme "New Knowledge Towards Solutions" will be a major international science conference focusing on solutions to the global sustainability challenge. It will provide a comprehensive update of the pressure planet Earth is now under and will discuss solutions at all scales to move societies on to a sustainable pathway. It will provide scientific leadership towards the 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development - Rio+20. The four-day conferen e - March 26-29, 2012 - in London, UK, is  sponsored by the International Council for Science's (ICSU) global environmental change  research programmes and has been initiated by ICSU's International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP).
