Letter sent to Carles Soriano (CSIC, Barcelona, Spain), Guido Giordano (UniRoma3, Italy), and Nancy Riggs (NAU, USA) who announced the workshop "Submarine and emergent volcanic arcs and associated volcano-sedimentary basins: facies models, petrology and volcano-tectonics", that will be held in the Cabo de Gata region of southeast Spain from 2-7 May 2011.

Dear friends,

considering the topic of the workshop we might collect a bunch of papers for a special issue of the Italian Journal of Geosciences, the formerly Bollettino della Società Geologica Italiana.  It is indexes and is included in the JCR-ISI repertory.

The Journal is devoted to all field of geosciences and thus contributions from the fields of geology, volcanology, igneous petrology, geochemistry, marine geology, sedimentary geology, which I suppose might be discussed in the workshop, are very welcome. Thus it may became an interdisciplinary special issue on such an important key area for the Geology of the Mediterranean basin and for the study of sub-marine volcanism. The geological map of the area might be included as well.

You organizer might be the Guest Editors with possibly Raffaello Cioni (Cagliari) and Angelo Camerlenghi (Barcelona) the official associate Editors deputed for handling the volume.
