Il corso è dedicato al Geological mapping and cross sections construction in fold and thrust belts con uso di software Google Earth and 3DMove, allo scopo di formare geologi in grado di svolgere queste attività con l'uso di tali software.
The aim of this practical course is to enable participants to improve their skills in geologic mapping by remote sensing and geological model building, with application to a region of the Zagros fold and thrust belt.
After a short introduction on thrust tectonics, the lithostratigraphy of the area will be introduced and field check points will be provided. Participants are expected to produce a geological map of the area in Google Earth using these data. Iterative validation of the
map will be done using the 3DMove software. The final output will be an about 50 km long cross sections. This training is aimed at appealing to doctoral students and early career researchers.
