Dear colleagues,
This is to bring to your notice that based on directives of the IUGS, the commission on Tectonics & Structural Geology (TecTask) is transitioning into the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR STRUCTURAL GEOLOGY AND TECTONICS (IASGT). All the activities of TecTask such as Outcropedia, Terminology, Education and Training etc. that are listed on the homepage (www.tectask.org) will continue as before, but will come under the IASGT. The Geological Society of India Regional Center Kharagpur will support the transition until the time IASGT formulates its own framework. The homepage will also change in due course of time, and the below listed Executive Board of IASGT will oversee the transition.
As of now, there is no membership fees for the IASGT. Persons who are presently members of TecTask, will automatically become members of the IASGT. Those who want to update their affiliation/contact details or those interested in becoming a member of IASGT are requested to contact the Secretary of IASGT (Dr. Lorenzo Gemignani; lgemignani@zedat.fu-berlin.de), who has also been the Secretary of TecTask.
