Short Course DiSTAR - Seal bypass structures using 3D and 4D seismic data

Who shoul attend?: PhD students in Earth Sciences and related disciplines.

Short Program of the Course:

  • 13th June. 1 - 3. hours: concept of amplitude, impedance and reflectivity. Bright spot,amplitude anomalies fluid factor, DHI Amplitude analysis.
  • 14th June. 3 - 6 hours. Seismic expression from 3D and 4D data of Seal bypass: blow out structures, fluid pipe rocks, mud volcanoes and sand intrusion. Petrophysics response.
  • 15th June. 9 – 12 hours: Final discussion of case studies – 3 hours. Practical on selected examples from North Sea, Levantine, Tanzania offshore, Brasilian Equatorial margin. Round table and wrap up.

Prerequisites: basic of geophysics, sedimentology, structural geology.
