Il Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark avrà il piacere di ospitare l'8° Conferenza Internazionale dei Geoparchi Mondiali UNESCO, che si svolgerà in Trentino, Italia, dall'11 al 14 settembre 2018, a Madonna di Campiglio, nel cuore del Geoparco. Il tema della Conferenza è "I Geoparchi e lo sviluppo sostenibile".
Il Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta ha ottenuto il riconoscimento di Geoparco nel 2008, a testimonianza della ricchezza geologica di valore internazionale e di una strategia di sviluppo sostenibile atta a valorizzare e conservare tale patrimonio. Il gruppo montuoso dell'Adamello – Presanella e le Dolomiti di Brenta si affacciano l'un l'altro: cime imponenti e massicce, delineate da creste aguzze che ospitano numerosi ghiacciai, dirimpetto a guglie, torrioni, campanili e immani pareti verticali delle Dolomiti di Brenta. L'elevata geodiversità del Geoparco si riflette anche nella ricca biodiversità del Parco Naturale, con la presenza di più di 1300 specie di piante e di tutta la fauna più rappresentativa dell'ambiente alpino, di cui l'orso bruno ne è il simbolo. La comunità locale, la sua tradizione e cultura, completano il perfetto mix di natura e cultura di quest'area.
La Conferenza prevede 5 sessioni scientifiche parallele e workshop in collaborazione con i gruppi più rappresentativi della Rete Globale dei Geoparchi.
Un giorno è dedicato ai field trip: sei opzioni disponibili per conoscere le peculiarità geologiche, naturalistiche e culturali dell'Adamello Brenta UNESCO Geopark.
La Conferenza sarà occasione anche per momenti sociali e culturali di contatto con la popolazione residente e le tradizioni locali, nonché con le ricchezze naturalistiche e culturali dell'Adamello Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark.
La Geofair, uno spazio dedicato a chiunque voglia presentare e promuovere il proprio territorio e i servizi, le attività e i prodotti tipici, a più di 800 delegati provenienti da tutto il mondo.
Per i partner, i famigliari e gli amici dei delegati che partecipano alla Conferenza sarà disponibile un programma speciale che include escursioni, attività e visite guidate per vivere e scoprire il Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta Geopark nella sua interezza.
Chi volesse ampliare il viaggio in Italia e avesse la possibilità di anticipare o prolungare il proprio soggiorno, potrà partecipare ai pre e post tour organizzati in collaborazione con i Geoparchi Italiani, con la visita delle ricchezze geologiche, naturalistiche e culturali del "Bel Paese" e delle principali città italiane.

8-14 September 2018 - ADAMELLO BRENTA UGG, TRENTINO, ITALY!
The Adamello Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark has the honour to host the 8th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks, from 11st to 14th September 2018. The Conference will be held in Madonna di Campiglio, a small village at the heart of the Geopark, located in the west part of Trentino, north of Italy. It's reachable through numerous airports in north of Italy served by daily flights to Asia, Europe and America and it's also easily accessible by train or car
The Adamello Brenta Geopark territory represents an area of extraordinary geological-environmental interest and value, that the Geopark aims to promote and protect through the development of suitable geotourism and activities of sustainable development. You are all invited to discover the spectacular uniqueness of its mountain landscapes and the remarkable geological and geomorphologic diversity of the two mountain ranges that dominate it, strongly linked to the existing, rich biodiversity and above all to experience the local communities, their tradition and culture.
The Conference, with the main theme "Geoparks and Sustainable Development", will be an opportunity to all participants to share their experiences, create network and exchange the best practices applied in their territories. Come and submit your abstract within the 15th of April, 2018!
In addition to the Conference sessions, special workshops will be organized in collaboration with the relevant GGN Working groups. As usual, in the course of the Conference, one day is dedicated to the mid-conference field trip: participants will have the opportunity to choose among six available options, in order to know and experience the geological, natural and cultural peculiarities of the Adamello Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark.
Moreover, a set of social and cultural events are planned during the Conference, with the opportunity to get in contact with the local people and to live the Italian lifestyle.
You can take the advantage to showcase and promote your own territory, its services, activities and typical products to over eight hundred delegates from all over the world at the Geo-fair.
Families and friends can come with you and participate in the special programme offered to them in order to live and discover the Adamello Brenta Nature Geopark in its entirety during the Conference, from 11th to 14th September.
For those who would like to take the advantage of the journey to Italy and have the possibility to move up or extend their stay, Pre and Post Conference Tour are organised together with the Italian Geoparks, where it will be possible to visit and admire the geological, natural and cultural heritage of Italy and its main cities.
