The Commoner Centerat Queens College, City University of NewYork,in collaboration with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has designed and implemented the ongoing New York City Community Air Survey (NYCCAS).This network,one of the large sturban air monitoring networks in the world,has measured major air pollutants at 60 to155 sites through out the city from 2008 to the present. Results of this research have advanced knowledge and have been utilized by policy-makers and the publict o better understand geographic and time trends in air pollution city-wide.
